2026 SUN FUN DAY CAMP FAQ'S

AGE REQUIREMENTS
Sun Fun Day Camp is open to children ages 7–14 years old. All participants must have completed Grade 1 before attending Sun Fun Day Camp.

Campers of all ages participate together in group activities throughout the day. This mixed-age approach encourages mentorship, teamwork, and a strong sense of community among campers.
Please send participants with the following:
  • Lunch and snacks (nut-free)
  • Refillable water bottle
  • Sunscreen
  • Hat
  • Extra clothing (if needed)
  • Life jackets are encouraged for beach days
  • Towel on water days
Children are discouraged from bringing personal technology devices or other personal items to camp. If such items are brought, they must remain in the child’s bag at all times. Simcoe Hall is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged personal belongings.
Participants are required to bring their own ready-to-eat lunch, snacks, and drinks each day. Campers will not have use of any heating devices.

While Simcoe Hall cannot guarantee a nut-free environment due to our on-site food bank, we are a nutsensitive program. We kindly ask that families do not send any nut or nut-based products with their child.

A complimentary light breakfast is offered to all campers Monday through Friday, with a hot breakfast served each Monday.

Campers also have the option to purchase a hot lunch (e.g., hot dogs or pizza) on Fridays; forms will be sent home at the beginning of each camp week.

If you need support providing food for your child during program hours, please reach out to the Program Director so we can help.

Each camper will be provided with a Sun Fun Day Camp T-shirt. For safety and easy identification during off-site trips, all campers are required to wear their camp shirt on trip days.

If a shirt is lost or unavailable, a replacement can be purchased for $15.00 (payable on the day of replacement). Campers without a camp shirt will not be able to participate in the trip.

If you anticipate being late to pick up your child, please call (905) 728-7525 to notify camp staff right away.

Late pick-ups will result in a fee of $1.00 a minute, up to a maximum charge of $60.00. If the late fee is not paid within the first 24 hours, then an additional $5.00 will be added until the fee is paid. Recurring late pickups may result in  suspension or termination of enrollment. If the parent/guardian/emergency contact is unavailable an hour after the program ends, we will contact the appropriate Children’s Aid Society and follow their instructions.

Extended care is not available for Sun Fun Day Camp. Camp will operate from 9:00 am – 3:30 pm. Please ensure that the participants get dropped off and picked up on time.
Registration fees must be paid in full at the time of registration to secure a space.

The last date to receive a refund is two (2) weeks prior to the start of camp. Any cancellations received less than two (2) weeks before camp begins will not be eligible for a refund.

No refunds or prorated fees will be issued for:
  • Late starts
  • Sick days
  • Late arrivals or early departures
  • Dismissals from camp
Refund requests related to medical or extenuating circumstances (such as serious illness, injury, or family emergencies) may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

All cancellations must be submitted in writing.

Requests to switch registered camp weeks will be accommodated where possible, based on availability. Changes are not guaranteed, but every effort will be made to support family needs.

Simcoe Hall requires parents/guardians to identify all individuals authorized to pick up participants from camp during registration.

Authorized pick-up persons may be required to present valid government-issued photo identification at the time of pick-up. Individuals who are not listed as authorized contacts will not be permitted to pick up the participant unless authorization from the parent/guardian has been provided in advance to the Program Director.

To qualify for a reduced rate, payment plan, or sponsorship, families must meet specific eligibility criteria based on financial need and/or social or situational factors.

Please note that financial support and sponsorship are not guaranteed, as spaces are limited and subject to availability.

We are happy to assist families in determining eligibility for a discounted rate or sponsorship. Please complete the Financial Assistance Application (click here) and email it to samantha@simcoehall.com

Simcoe Hall’s Sun Fun Day Camp is led by our core after-school program staff, supported by additional seasonal camp staff.

All staff have completed a Vulnerable Sector Check and are certified in First Aid. Many team members also hold certifications in child and youth mental health, social work diplomas, and have extensive experience in crisis intervention.

Our staff-to-camper ratio is maintained at 1:6 to ensure each participant receives appropriate supervision, support, and engagement throughout the day. We prioritize a safe, responsive, and inclusive environment by keeping group sizes small and manageable.

Please note that Sun Fun Day Camp is not able to provide one-to-one (1:1) support. If your child requires additional support, we encourage you to contact the Program Director to discuss your child’s needs and determine whether our program is a suitable fit.

Simcoe Hall’s Sun Fun Day Camp is committed to providing a safe and respectful environment for all children. All campers are expected to behave in a way that supports the well-being and enjoyment of everyone at camp.

Campers are expected to:
  • Treat staff and other campers with kindness and respect.
  • Use appropriate language at all times.
  • Respect personal space, belongings, and Simcoe Hall’s property.
  • Follow all staff instructions and safety rules.
  • Participate in activities positively and cooperatively.
  • Show respect for diversity and differences in others.
Campers who do not follow the Code of Conduct will receive appropriate consequences, which may include redirection, removal from activities, or, in more serious cases, dismissal from camp.
