Simcoe Hall’s Food Bank: Supporting Our Community

Simcoe Hall’s Food Bank is committed to helping local residents who are experiencing food insecurity.

According to Feed Ontario, in 2022 more than 9,100 people in Oshawa relied on a food bank, with children making up 39% of visits. Many of the individuals and families we serve depend on social assistance, which too often does not cover even the most basic necessities.

Founded in 1935 during the Great Depression, Simcoe Hall has been a cornerstone of community care in Oshawa for 90 years. From food security through the Food Bank to Child and Youth programs like the After School Program, Golden Years Seniors’ Club, and seasonal initiatives such as Back-to-School Backpacks, Holiday Toys, and Holiday Food Hampers, Simcoe Hall continues to evolve to meet community needs.

Now, more than ever, our Food Bank is a lifeline. We provide access to nutritious food and other essential items, helping individuals and families put meals on the table and find support during difficult times.
