CELEBRATING SIMCOE HALL'S 90th BIRTHDAY!
💙 A Legacy of Compassion, A Future of Hope
Simcoe Hall Settlement House began in 1935 with a simple but powerful mission: to support newcomers to Canada through community-driven programs and a local support network. Founded by the Women’s Welfare League, this grassroots initiative laid the foundation for what would become a cornerstone of care in Durham Region.
Over the decades, Simcoe Hall has stood strong through the Great Depression, World War II, economic downturns, refugee crises, and the global COVID-19 pandemic. While the challenges have evolved, our commitment has never wavered. Every step forward has been made possible by the unwavering dedication of our volunteers, donors, Board Members, and staff.
Today, just as in 1935, it is the spirit of community that fuels our work. That same “dedicated community effort” continues to uplift and empower those who need it most—providing food, programs, and hope to families across Durham Region.
